The Initiative

 The Aiden Initiative is an amendment campaign that would provide court standing to non-parental parties, who have been allowed by a parent or legal guardian to build a healthy, loving and long-lasting relationship with a child, only to be stripped of that relationship when the parent comes into personal conflict with the non-parental party. Simply put, the amendment we are advancing would allow for a judge to hear the facts and details of a particular case concerning long-established visitation rights for non-parental parties so that a judge can determine what is in the best interest of the child.

 We have had face to face communication with several Texas state legislators and one Texas state senator. Under their advisement, we are in the process of consulting with multiple, Austin based legislative attorneys in order to craft the language necessary for the smallest amendment possible that would allow non-parental parties to have legal standing in the state of Texas to bring a suit for visitation rights. We will soon be retaining an attorney who we believe can deliver maximum results. We intend to hand-deliver the proposed wording to each of these Texas lawmakers and lobby for this proposed amendment during the next Texas state legislative session.

Aiden's little brother, Ashton, is helping to lead the charge and is one of the most passionate advocates in Aiden's ARMY. At only 5 years old, Ashton clearly knows the wrong that has been done to his big brother and is devastated by their sudden separation. In his words to one of their little friends, Grant, we overheard this conversation, "Aiden is in mom jail right now, but we're gonna get him out soon!" Will you join Ashton and us, as we resolutely strive to make sure that this kind of emotional abuse can NEVER happen to another child again? One voice is all it takes, but thousands of voices, in solidarity, will resound through the halls of the Texas state capitol building and push The Aiden Initiative amendment to the governor's desk.
